Inmate found hanged at Central Prison

The Associated Press

An inmate at Central Prison was found hanged in a janitor's closet Sunday night, the Department of Correction said.

A statement from the department said the body of Eric Queen, 28, was discovered around 7 p.m. by a corrections officer making rounds at the prison. Queen was pronounced dead in the prison's emergency room at 7:19 p.m.

The department will conduct its own internal investigation, and the State Bureau of Investigation has also been called in to investigate, as is routine in unnatural inmate deaths.

Queen was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and several other charges in connection with the August 1998 murders of Susan Moore and Tracy Lambert in Cumberland County.

Debra Cheeseborough was shot several times in the same incident, but survived.
