A guard at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Stiles Unit outside Beaumont has been indicted on charges of accepting a bribe to bring cell phones to inmates inside the prison.

Davisha Maxine Martin, 26, of Port Arthur has been indicted on charges of bribery, a second-degree felony, and bringing a prohibited item into a correctional facility, a third-degree felony.

Martin, according to court papers, accepted $1,100 to bring cell phones into the prison in October 2007.
